PRO-MIN 80
PRO-MIN 80 is a concentrated source of supplemental protein, major minerals, trace minerals and vitamins needed by beef cattle grazing late summer, mature pastures or fed low protein roughages. The crude protein in PRO-MIN is supplied by a combination of plant proteins, processed grain by-products and biuret, a unique, innovative form of non-protein nitrogen. Unlike feed grade urea, biuret is hydrolyzed more slowly in the ruminant digestive system where it supplies beneficial nitrogen to the rumen bacteria at a rate similar to that of most plant proteins. This allows cattle to more efficiently utilize the available nutrients found in low-quality forages.
Biuret is safe to feed with little or no risk of the urea toxicity that often occurs with feed grade urea.
Extensive University Research has shown that beef cows supplemented with biuret as a source of crude protein had body weight gains and body condition scores comparable to cows fed other forms of protein. Stocker cattle supplemented with biuret also showed average daily gains comparable to those supplemented with plant proteins.
This makes biuret an excellent source of supplemental crude protein in a nutrient dense, low feeding rate supplements like PRO-MIN 80.
PRO-MIN 80 is a convenient and cost-effective way to provide protein, minerals and vitamins to all classes of cattle on late summer, fall and winter pasture or any low-quality forage that does not contain enough protein to meet the animal’s protein requirement. It can be fed free choice in any standard mineral feeder. No special equipment is necessary.
Typical consumption should average 0.25 to 0.75 pounds/head/day. This will provide 0.2 to 0.6 pounds of supplemental crude protein/head/day. The consumption of PRO-MIN will vary according to the size of the cattle and the quality of forage available.
Make sure animals have adequate forage available at all times along with clean, fresh water.
