RANGE MEALS

Western Feeds Range Meals are a convenient, cost effective way to provide the protein, energy, minerals and vitamins needed to support optimum weight gains, body condition and reproductive performance in cattle grazing summer, fall and winter pastures, or fed low-quality roughages.

Western Range Meals are a blend of protein, salt, minerals and vitamins in meal form. Range Meals are formulated to be fed free choice to cattle on pasture or grazing crop residues. Salt is included to help control consumption. Actual consumption will depend on the product used, cattle type, body weight and forage conditions. For the best results, Range Meals should be fed during periods when there is adequate forage available. Range Meals should be fed in covered bunks or feeders to protect them from wind and rain. There are several formulations to choose from.

3-WAY BREEDER MEAL

3-Way Breeder Meal is recommended for brood cows and replacement heifers grazing all types of pastures. It supplies supplemental crude protein along with the proper balance of all major minerals, trace minerals and vitamins A, D3 and E to insure that breeding cattle receive the nutrition necessary for optimum herd health and reproductive performance. For the best results, 3-Way Breeder Meal should be fed during periods when there is adequate forage available. Range Meals should be fed in covered bunks or feeders to protect them from wind and rain. All other forms of salt and mineral should be removed when feeding 3-Way Breeder Meal.

3-WAY RANGE MEAL

3-Way Range Meal is recommended stocker cattle grazing all types of pastures. It supplies supplemental crude protein along with the proper balance of minerals and vitamin A, to insure that cattle receive the nutrition necessary for optimum health and performance. For the best results, 3-Way Range Meal should be fed during periods when there is adequate forage available. It should be fed in covered bunks or feeders to protect it from wind and rain. All other forms of salt and mineral should be removed when feeding 3-Way Range Meal.

PRO-MIN 80

PRO-MIN 80 is a concentrated source of the supplemental protein, major minerals, trace minerals and vitamins needed by cattle grazing late summer, mature pastures or fed low protein roughages. The crude protein in PRO-MIN is supplied by a combination of plant proteins and biuret, a unique, innovative form of non-protein nitrogen. Unlike urea, biuret is hydrolyzed more slowly to ammonia in the rumen and therefore supplies nitrogen to the rumen bacteria at a rate similar to that of most plant proteins.

Extensive University Research has shown that beef cows supplemented with biuret as a source of crude protein had body weight gains and body condition scores comparable to cows fed other forms of protein. Stocker cattle supplemented with biuret also showed average daily gains comparable to those supplemented with plant proteins. This makes biuret an excellent source of supplemental crude protein in nutrient dense, low feeding rate supplements like PRO-MIN 80.

PRO-MIN 80 can be fed free choice to all classes of cattle on late summer, fall and winter pasture or any low quality forage that does not contain enough protein to meet the animal’s protein requirement.
